Appalachian Pastel Society Presentation and Workshop

WALTER STANFORD WORKSHOP – September 8th & 9th Black Mountain, NC Library

Walters’ talks are humorous and enthusiastic. This pastel demos and workshop will including landscapes, animals, florals and fantasy. His technique is simple and was developed over a 15 year illustration career. Walter’s workshops will add an exciting new component to your current style and are well worth the time and every penny invested.

Walter is an artist who’s hard to pin down. He can work realistically or totally from imagination. He worked for 15 years as an illustrator specializing in pastel and providing editorial, humorous and conceptual works for clients nationwide. He followed this with a career in graphic design that he continues to this day. In 2007, Walter began pursuing fine art and has participated in numerous exhibits. He is a member of the Appalachian Pastel Society, the Southeastern Pastel Society and the Associate Artists of Winston Salem. His landscapes are represented by the Art Cellar Gallery in Banner Elk, NC and his fantasy works are represented by the Green Goat Gallery in Salisbury.

1) The program part of the meeting (10 to 12) is open to members and the general public…and is FREE.

2) The 1/2 day workshop, Sept. 8, is $45 for members, $55 for non-members.

3) The full day workshop, Sept. 9, is $100 for member and $110 for non-members and we need 5 participants.

Full-days usually start at 10am and run to 4pm with a 1-hr lunch break for everyone to get their own lunch or eat there.

Registration can be done through the APD website and paid through Paypal. Registrations can also be done by mail, paid with a check. No registrations will be taken by phone.
