November 10, 2012 Member Meeting featuring Deborah Squier – Pastel Demo

Deborah Squier will be our presenter at the upcoming APS meeting on November 10th. The meeting will be held again at the Black Mountain Library. Deborah has been working in pastel for the past 20 years. She is included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and abroad. Her work can be seen locally at Blue Spiral in downtown Asheville. Deborah focuses on regional landscape and concentrates on deepening her vision through direct observation and plein air work in oil and pastel. Her presentation and demo will be focused on her approach to landscape painting and the cross pollination that occurs between pastel and oil.

For those interested, Deborah has invited members of the group to go out painting following the program. The site will be close by. This is just an opportunity to go out painting together and enjoy our passion for painting. There is no fee. Feel free to work in oil or pastel or a combination of the two. If you have further questions, you can contact Deborah at: squierd@bellsouth.net

Deborah’s work can be seen on her website at: www.DeborahSquier.com
