     …workshop from 1pm to 4pm…

Alec Hall, “Creating Dynamic Realism with Pastels”

Realism is alive and well in today’s art world and The Sugar Tree eis actually enjoying a resurgence after being cast aside during the mid-20th century by the Modern Artists, the Abstract-Expressionists, and Minimalists.

We will discuss some of the attributes of realism, such as Values, Contrast, Accurate Proportions, Textures, and Aerial Perspective and how to achieve them with pastel.

Then I would like to work one-on-one with each student to help them apply these attributes to one of their pastel paintings.
