Watch the Demo

In his morning presentation for the APS Member Meeting, Desmond will demonstrate his use of values and shapes in depicting light and the energy and uniqueness of everyday life. He believes every-thing is a combination of abstract shapes that combine to form a representational image. He seeks to enlist the viewer’s eye to interpret details that are only loosely implied, thus values and shapes are critical in this process. This demonstration will not be recorded so please make plans to attend on Saturday morning to watch him at work.

Take the Workshop (1:30 – 4:30PM)

Desmond’s afternoon workshop, 1:30-4:30PM, will continue this emphasis on values and shapes and allow the participants to put these elements into practice as they work from their own photos. O’Hagan will help you see your painting subjects in a more productive way and paint with minimal strokes in refining shapes and edges with pastels. He strongly suggests that all workshop participants be in attendance at the Morning Demonstration. He will also work individually with each participant in critiquing their paintings.
