“Understanding and Using Color Temperature”

.

Rupp_G_PewterPitcherUsing color temperature adds depth, volume and interest to your painting.  It is also an essential element in creating the much sought after luminosity which pastels can create.

In spite of being one of the most powerful tools artists possess, color temperature often remains ignored or misunderstood. Rupp_G_RedDawn

This demonstration and workshop seeks to demystify the use of color temperature and show the artist a straightforward process to use this tool more successfully in their paintings.

Gary will show how to find a “touchstone” color and then apply it to a complimentary color underpainting.  The bottom line is to find joy in the painting process.
